Gospel Truth

(Strong’s) “Gospel” preach a good message

The Gospel starts with the Father, Jehovah, the Father of us by creation and the Father of Jesus, not by creation as we were, but begotten as we are begotten by our earthly parents. The beginning of the need for the gospel message started because of the introduction of sin on earth, which presented a need for salvation to preserve mankind, therefore a Savior was needed to redeem us from our sinful status, "I shall rise up a Prophet to them from among their brothers like you; and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him. And it shall be, whoever will not listen to My words which He will speak in My name, I will require it at his hand." (Deuteronomy 18:18,19). God speaks of His Son, Jesus, who committed Himself to the task, dedicating His service to save humanity from our own weakness, having been born into sin and under the attack of Satan. From the very beginning when Adam sinned, the plan was set into motion to provide Jesus as our Messiah, "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; You have opened ears to Me. You have not asked burnt offering and sin offering. Then I said, Lo, I come; in the roll of the Book, it is written of Me; I delight to do Your will, O My God; and Your law is within My inter soul..." (Psalm 40:6-11). The Old Testament is filled with predictions of a coming Messiah from many of God’s chosen prophets, writers and Psalmists. These messages predicted a future appearance of the Messiah, and they included some details of His arrival. "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold your King comes to you! He is righteous and victorious; lowly and riding on an ass, even a colt, the son of an ass." (Zechariah 9:9). The sacrificial system was established for the purpose of pointing to man the perfect sacrifice, which Jesus was to make, to atone for our repented and hated sins against God and against mankind. This gift of salvation is available to all sinners, to avoid the required blood penalty for sin. This death penalty was not a desire of God, but an eventual result of unchecked and un-repented sin. Sin being anything contrary to God’s perfectly designed system and contrary to Heaven and God’s future Kingdom. The death of innocent and flawless animals were allowed as a substitute for the sinner (the Israelites), but only for a time, until God's only-begotten Son would supply the ultimate sacrifice, having withstood the temptations of Satan and presented Himself perfected as the only innocent and perfect human sacrifice, acceptable to the Creator and Designer, Jehovah. If this death payment was executed immediately, the human race (then Adam and Eve) would not have understood the sting and results of sin. Therefore, a period of time was given to man and his expanded family for the purpose of learning first hand the sure consequences of sin, then, for man to reason for themselves the destructive nature of a transgression of Gods perfect and just laws. This should initiates a decision from each of us, a need to make a choice based on our personal understanding of sin and its consequence, or the alternative to God's perfect system of righteousness, which is now abundantly available in God's word. Christ’s death on the cross was for the payment of our second death for the sinner who repented of his sins; the first death is the result of being born into a sinful world, and for man to experience and know, first what Jesus endured for us, plus, to be a challenge to our faith. Christ's death at Calvary is to be the full payment for the required second death, waged on every sinner for their careless and foolish un-repented transgression of God's just commands and laws.

Next and equally important part in the Gospel of God (good message) is the resurrection of Jesus, "And with great power the apostles gave testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all." (Acts 4:33), who was the first resurrection to life everlasting, leading the way for us, giving man a hope that was not then made possible until Christ's resurrection. This is to be a conscious commitment for each one of us, who desires eternal life, to prepare ones self for God’s Kingdom, to train our character to have a passion for willing obedience for Jehovah's way. Any sin is not being allowed in God's kingdom, it is our duty to void sin in this life, and to adopt a Christ-like character. We cannot successfully do this without the help and strength of our personal Savior, Jesus, Son of the Almighty God. Michael (Jesus) took on this commitment, stepping down from Heaven and giving up His Godly powers, "but we do see Jesus crowned with glory and honor, who on account of suffering of death was made a little less then the angels, so that by the grace of God He might taste of death for every son." (Hebrews 2:8), to become the "Son of man", and to qualify Himself as the "Lamb of God" for the purpose of conquer death for all humanity, which will be given to those choosing to seek God. Christ's disciples were instructed to continued with this message after Christ ascended to His Father in Heaven, and then He was to sent His holy spirit to direct them in sharing this message and in passing on this task to others and for them to continue in sharing the good message of God’s word. This task continues with us, in leading everyone to God's salvation, by words and our example. The Gospel of God is being declared today through the reading of His word, New and Old Testaments, both are part of one perfect message. If we read this most valuable Book, we are reading the “Gospel” because it is completely a good message to those who cherish the truth in its teachings and who personally live by God's truth, understanding its freedom and peace, and then eternal life is their reward. This good message is brought to us by way of the Son of God, who has inspired the many writers of this one and only Book. Its purest form is the Hebrew text, but understanding that the Greek text in most cases has already been translation from the original new Testament text, which either has been lost or just not available to the public. What we read in the common Bibles are translations and unfortunately, some variations have occurred. More information about this subject is discussed in "The Written Word" in this website.

The good news (gospel) is the word that Christ came to the world to present to us, from His Father, Jehovah, "for the One whom God sent speaks the words of God..." (John 3:34) and  "...the One sending Me is true, and what I heard from Him, these things I say to the world." (John 8:26) and, "For I did not speak from Myself, but He who sent Me, the Father, He has given Me command, what I should say, and what I should speak." (John 12:49). Christ came not only to establish His Father's salvation, but also to give us His Father's words, to instruct us in how to arrive at our godly home, the kingdom of God. He was also given the task of passing on this gospel truth to His disciples and to His chosen writers, to share with all who have the interest and wisdom in seeking the truth. The gospel good news is for all to receive, believe and to share with others, Jehovah's truth is presented in God's word, to enlighten all who search its contents. We, who now contain the breath of life, should be Christ's messengers in sharing His Father's words; this is what we share when spreading the gospel message, the truth of God's pure word.
