Our Jehovah
The God of all existence, "Jehovah", the Almighty, speaking to Moses reveals
His name, "And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, and
by My name Jehovah, I never made Myself known to them." (Exodus 6:3), God spoke this
to Moses after He instructed him to go back to Egypt, and He knew that His people
didn't know Him by name, so He gave Moses a description to use, "...I am that I am..."
it also could be translated, "I exist because I exist" (Exodus 3:14) so that they
would understand, then in the next verse, "And God said to Moses again, You shall
say this to the sons of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever,
and this is My title from generation to generation." (Exodus 3:15), and He alone
is God, "know today, and lay in your heart that Jehovah, He is God in the heavens
above and on the earth beneath; there is no other." (Deuteronomy 4:39). And there
is only one Jehovah, "Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah." (Deuteronomy
6:4). There are surely two divine beings, one is God, Himself, the Almighty, the
Father and the only other divine being is His only-begotten Son, divine by inheritance,
"Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of His way, from then before His works. I
was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth ever was." (Proverbs
8:22,23).
Jehovah is the Father of the Son, who's name then was Michael, and Jehovah
is also the Father of Adam and Eve, but unlike His only-begotten Son, they were Jehovah's
creations, "And Jehovah God formed the man out of the dust from the ground, and blew
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7),
"And Jehovah God formed the rib which He had taken from the man into a woman, and
brought her to the man." (Genesis 2:22). This is confirmed in the New Testament,
"And Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me for I have not ascended to My Father, but
go to My brothers and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and
My God and your God." (John 20:17). The Bibles that most Christian communities use,
does not contain the name of God Almighty, "Jehovah", as it is presented in the original
Hebrew text, hence, confusion and distortions of the truth of God's word is unknowingly
accepted. The original language in the Old Testament is available to anyone seeking
God, and I assume, readily available at the religious colleges, yet, few are interested
in reading God's word as it was originally written. The King James Version Bible
includes Jehovah's name four times, in contrast to the 6747 times, as His name "Jehovah"
appeared in the Masoretic Text. Reading God's word as it was intended by the Author
is most important for correct and complete understanding of His word, as God wants
it to be read, and as Christ intended it to be read, as He is credited to be the
inspirer to the various Bible writers, New and Old Testaments, since there was no
distinction made on this point in John 1:1.
Even some who know and use the name Jehovah, take liberty and claim that the
name Jehovah was given to Jesus, which is easily proven incorrect, "And a shot goes
out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will bear fruit out of his roots. And the
Spirit of Jehovah will rest on Him; He will have the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of Jehovah."
(Isaiah 11:1,2). This verse is considered to be referring to Jesus and not someone
with the name Jehovah. Our God Almighty is the only as stated clearly in Deuteronomy
6:4, "Jehovah", "And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram
and said to him, I am the Almighty God! Walk before Me and be perfect." (Genesis
17:1) and in the first commandment, "I am Jehovah your God who has brought you out
from the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage." (Exodus 20:2,3). Other Christians
preach that God has many names and they combine Jehovah with a variety of titles
or actions, for example "Jehovah Shammah" translated as: 'The Lord is there', and
"Jehovah Jireh" translated as: 'The Lord will provide', plus they list several others
as a variety of names for God. The only name for God is "Jehovah", again, "Hear,
O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah." (Deuteronomy 6:4). There is only one God
declared here and only one possessing the name "Jehovah" which is His full name and
He does not share His name with anyone, nor is it a family name, according to scripture.
A serious error that stems from reading the Bible without God's name, is that
it makes it more acceptable to believe that God can be more then one, which is not
Biblical. In the Old Testament, Jehovah has the title of "Lord", "and says the Lord
Jehovah of host, the mighty one of Israel..." (Isaiah 1:24). In the New Testament,
Jesus is also given the same title, "Lord" and this is because Jehovah gave authority
to His Son to lord over us and lead God's people home. With the arrival of Jesus
at His first advent, there are two divine beings with the title of "Lord" and this
creates confusion as to whom a verse is being spoken of, both in the Old and the
New Testaments, "For God is not God of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches
of the saints." (I Corinthians 14:33). God is only one and there is only one Son
of God, this is addressed in both Testaments, "To you it was revealed, so that you
might know that Jehovah is God, and no one else beside Him." (Deuteronomy 4:35),
"And let them know, Your name is Jehovah, that You alone are the Most High over all
the earth." (Psalm 83:18). And again Jehovah speaks, "that they may know from the
sunrise, and to the sunset, that there is none besides Me; I am Jehovah, and there
is none else." (Isaiah 45:6) also, "You are My witness, says Jehovah; and My servant
whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He;
before Me there was no god formed; nor shall any be after Me." (Isaiah 43:10). In
the New Testament, "But to us is one God, the Father, to whom are all things, and
we to Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we by Him."
(I Corinthians 8:6) and, "But the Mediator is not one but God is one." (Galatians
3:20), there are a host of other verses that proclaim the same, but one more should
be convincing, "Yet I am Jehovah, your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall
know no other gods then Me. For there is no Savior besides Me." (Hosea 13:4). This
verse may confound the Christian because they read that Jehovah is our "Savior" and
not Christ, but the Christians needs to understand that Jehovah God, later on, sent
His only-begotten Son to earth to establish salvation for Him, and in successfully
doing so, Christ then also becomes our "Savoir", because it is His blood that makes
atonement for our repented sins, as He became the "Lamb of God". But we need to remember
that, Christ was sent by the Father, to establish salvation for God Jehovah, being
the designer of the salvation that is available to us, but only because of the blood
of Jehovah's Son.
The name "Jehovah", since it has been substituted with "Lord" is generally
not spoken from the pulpit, therefore the Christian community has almost totally
forgotten that God has a personal name. The Hebrew symbols that make up God's name
is called the "Tetragrammaton" represented in the Strong's Concordance with number
#3068 and #3069, Yehovah (the) self-existence or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national
name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord. I must ask, how could we have allowed this disrespectful
disregard for our Almighty God's name to be almost totally eliminated from God's
Book and hence, from the Christian's mind and from ones heart? The reason is, because
the translators made this decision, or the ones who hired them. There are three Bibles
that I know of that still contains His name as it was intended, the J.P. Green Interlinear
Bible (which I use and present in red letters), the Jehovah's Witness Bible and the
American Standard Version (now out of print but still available for download on the
internet). Wouldn't this qualify as a most vain way of honoring God's name and transgressing
the third Commandment, "You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain;
for Jehovah will not leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain." (Exodus
20:7)? Can we completely blame the translators, the theologians and the preachers
for this error? Certainly not, this error and many other errors in the Christian
community lie in our own laps, because most do not read the entire Bible, we allow
the pastors and many Christian writers to explain to us what God's Book says and
means instead of allowing and asking Christ's spirit to enlighten us, to a true
understanding of God's word, as we read all of His words. God Jehovah, the Designer
and Creator of all existence, has been almost systematically eliminated from the
Christian experience, not the office of God, but the personal being of our Father
and Sustainer. First, His name has been all but completely taken out of God's word.
Secondly, His office, "Almighty God" has been cut into thirds, by the majority of
Christianity, having accepted the Trinity doctrine, which is not Biblical, having
been introduced into the church during the fourth century by Emperor Constantine.
The Bible endorses a single God with the personal name "Jehovah", and thirdly, the
creative acts of God has been transferred to the Son, because of John 1:3. This verse
is also incorrectly translated because it is contrary to the consistency of God's
word. Jehovah's creative act is expressed in the second part of the fourth Commandment.
"For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all which is
in them, and He rested on the seventh day, on account of this Jehovah blessed the
seventh day and sanctified it." (Exodus 20:11). In addition, the so-called "person"
of the Holy Spirit has been given credit for a variety of Jehovah's work, which is
from Jehovah Himself, working through His spirit, not by an individual spirit, apart
from the Father, “And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on him, He will have the spirit
of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge
and of the fear if Jehovah." (Isaiah 11:2). Christ also has a spirit like His Father,
but to promote a separate spirit apart from the only two divine beings, Jehovah and
Jesus, where their is no Biblical support. Can we be trusting in God if we change
and distort His word; can we honor God and substitute His name with a common title;
can we display our faith in God and allow others to tell us what Jehovah is speaking
to us? Are we following Jesus, who is "...the Way..." (John 14:6) to the Father or
are we following our pastor, or other writers or speakers? What is our destination
if we don't read for ourselves the instructions Christ gave to us to read, through
His inspiration to the Bible writers? Did He also inspire the millions of books written
about what the various Bibles say, can this be possible since they many disagree
with each other? It's the job of Christ's spirit to enlighten us to the correct understanding
of God's word, for those who quest in seeking God, "Glory in His holy name; let the
heart of those who seek Jehovah rejoice. Seek Jehovah and His strength; seek His
face without ceasing." (Psalm 105:3,4), and seek the truth of Jehovah's written word.
Jehovah, God Almighty is our Creator, our Sustainer, our Judge and our executioner.
Christ is our Shepherd, and our Advocate, His recommendations to the Judge are held
in perfect balance because He is as perfect as His Father, but for those not following
Jesus their fate falls on the Judge, "Jehovah", who is just and fair in His judgments,
according to all His flawless precepts of justice; judging the heart, along with
all our actions. It is our responsibility and our advantage to alter our heart, and
to ignore the thoughts and opinions of man, which Jehovah and His Christ desire for
everyone Jehovah has created.
