The Creator

There is but one God and He is the only Creator of our existence and the world He gave for us to live in, and it takes only to read God’s word to determine whom the Creator of the heavens and the earth must be. For most of us, the task of naming the Creator would seem to be an effortless task, since most everyone already has a clear opinion of the answer. Consider these verses taken form the Hebrew text, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1), "These are the births of the heavens and the earth when they were created in the day that Jehovah was making earth and heavens." (Genesis 2:4). This second verse declares a name for the one Creator, "Jehovah" (the most accepted English translation of the Tetragrammaton), and to confirm this, "For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all which is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; on account of this Jehovah blessed the seventh day and sanctified it." (Exodus 20:11). This verse is from the second part of the fourth Commandment, and again, God's personal name is given. As always, I use the Interlinear Bible that contains the Hebrew and the Greek text to insure that the wording is as close to the original as possible. I always seek to find what is consistent throughout the Bible, the Old and the New Testaments. I've added a list of a few verses from the Old Testament, all from the JP Green Interlinear Bible:

Exodus 31:17 "For it is a sign forever between Me and the sons of Israel;

for in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth and on the

    seventh He rested..."

II Kings19:15 "...O Jehovah, the God of Israel, who sits above the

cherubs. You are God Himself, You alone... You have made the

    heavens and the earth."

II Chronicles 2:12 "And Hiram said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God

of Israel, who made the heavens and earth..."

Job 38,39:All "And Jehovah answered Job and said, Where were

you when I laid the foundations of the earth..."

Psalm 95:5,6 "The sea is His, and He made it, and His hands formed

the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel

   before Jehovah our Maker."

Psalm 104:24 "O Jehovah, how many are Your works! You have

made all of them in wisdom; the earth is full of Your riches."

Psalm 115:15 ”You are blessed to Jehovah, who makes heavens and

   earth."

Psalm 121:2 "My help comes from Jehovah, the Maker of the

    heavens and the earth."

Psalm 135:6 "Everything which Jehovah was pleased to do, He

did, in the heaven and in the earth; in the seas and all the deep

   places."

Proverbs 3:19 "Jehovah founded the earth by wisdom; He founded

   the heavens by understanding."

Proverbs 30:4"Who has gone up to Heaven and come down? Who

has gathered the wind in His fist? Who has bound the waters in

His garments? Who has made all the end of the earth to rise?

What is His name? And what is His Son's name?..."

Isaiah 17:7 "In that day, man shall gaze at His Maker; and his eyes

shall look to the holy One of Israel."

Isaiah 40:28 "...Jehovah, the everlasting God, the Creator of the

    ends of the earth..."

Isaiah 41:4 "Who has planned and done it, calling forth the

generation from the beginning? I Jehovah am the first and the

   last; I am He."

Isaiah 42:5 "So says Jehovah, creating the heavens and stretching

them out; spreading out the earth and its offspring, giving

breath to the people on it, and spirit to those walking in it."

Isaiah 44:24 "So says Jehovah, your Redeemer and Former from

the womb; I am Jehovah who makes all things; stretching

out the heavens I alone, spreading out the earth. Who was

    with Me."

Isaiah 66:2 "And My hand made all these things, even all these

things exist, declares Jehovah. But I will look toward this one,

to the afflicted, and the contrite of spirit..."

Jeremiah 31:35 "So says Jehovah, who gave the sun for a light

by day, the laws of the moon and the stars for the light by

night... Jehovah of host is His name."

Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah Jehovah! You have made the heavens and

the earth by Your great power and Your outstretched arm,

not anything is too difficult for You."

There are many more similar verses from the Old Testament and this is easily proven from an Interlinear Bible containing the Hebrew text, but we haven't looked at the New Testament yet and this is necessary. Jesus helps us understand, "But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work." (John 5:17). After some of the apostles were threatened and let go by the authorities, they returned and explained to the others, "And hear, they with one passion lifted up their voice to God and said, Master, You are the God who made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and all the things in them." (Acts 4:24). The writer of Acts 4:24, was quoting the second half of the Jehovah’s Fourth Commandment, which, in the Hebrew text uses God's name "Jehovah". And Jehovah alone is the one God, "Exalt Jehovah our God and worship at His holy hill; for Jehovah our God is holy." (Psalm 99:9), and this is clearly stated by Jesus, "...I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God." (John 20:17). There are others called god in the Bible, "And he shall speak for you to the people. And it shall be, he shall be a mouth for you, and you shall be a god for him." (Exodus 4:16 speaking of Moses), and some men called Paul a god, "And seeing what Paul did, the crowd lifted up their voice in Lycaonian, saying, The gods have come down to us, becoming like men." (Acts 14:11) and he responded, "and saying, men why do you do these things? We are men of like feelings to you, preaching the gospel to you to turn you from these vanities to the living God, who made the heavens an the earth and the sea and all the things in them." (Acts 14:15). In Revelation, an angel out of Heaven said, "saying with a great voice, Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; also worship Him who has made the heavens and the earth and the sea and the fountains of waters." (Revelation 14:7), again quoting the second part of the fourth commandment. "For He entered into His rest, He Himself also rested from His works as God has done from His own" (Hebrews 4:10), and consider, "I charge you before God, He making all things alive, and Jesus Christ, He, witnessing the good confession to Pontius Pilate." (I Timothy 6:13). Not only does the Son of God lists His Father's creations in Proverbs 8:25-29, but Jehovah God Himself speaks, in Job 38 and 39, listing just some of His works in the creation process "And Jehovah answered Job out of the tempest and said...Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth..." (Job 38 and 39: All). The Biblical evidence is overwhelming.

I cannot explain why most of the general Christian community credits Jesus, the Son of God, the Word of God as the hands-on Creator, but the reason they use is from John 1:3, "all things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being." To my thinking, this is a contradiction with the rest of God's word; this needs further understanding and correct clarification for Christ intended meaning. Its not an Old Testament, verses a New Testament conflict, because you saw earlier that several times, men in the New Testament quoted from Exodus 20:11. Christ never gave Himself credit for the creation process and as mentioned earlier in the Old Testament, the Son of God, states, "then I was at His side, like a "master workman" (“one brought up” KJV); and I was His delight day by day, rejoicing before Him at every time." (Proverbs 8:30). Here the Interlinear Bible translator adjusts the translation to supports the general Christian opinion. I need to expose this translation error: the Interlinear Bible that I use says, "master workman" and the KJV uses, "as one brought up with him" the Greek word: Strong's #525 amown in the sense of training; skilled, i.e. an architect [like 542] - one brought up. The missing part of both translations is "in the sense of training" This is not properly represented in either translation but the KJV uses a word listed and supports what is consistent with the entire Bible. You must read all 9 verses of Proverbs 8:22-31, God's Son is relating the things His Father is creating and made no mention of Himself in the creation process, except that He was by His Father's side. A notable part is that Christ names Jehovah in the original Hebrew as the One doing the creating. Christ also said, "Then Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly I say to you, the Son is not able to do anything from Himself, except what He may see the Father doing; for whatever that One does, these things also the Son does the same way." (John 5:19), which supports the training aspect of Strong’s #525. It's mentioned again, in John 5:17, "But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work." This is consistent with God's word because Jehovah gave authority of the heavens and the earth to Christ because He was sent to bring His elect home to His Father, "All things were yielded up to Me by My Father..." (Matthew 11:27, Luke 10:22 and John 13:3).

We now need to search John 1:3, "All things came into being through Him and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being." to find what will make this verse consistent with the rest of God's word, knowing that the "Word of God", Jesus, was the inspirer and author of the Bible, and being the only-begotten Son of God, He is just as His Father, Jehovah, and both are perfect and unable to lie so there must be consistency in God's word. Jesus, knowing that man is flawed, I must believe that the Bible writers were constantly under surveillance during inspiration, so the original Bible's text was consistent and remains so. I'm certain that the Hebrew text is correct because when the Jewish leaders took out God's name, they didn't change the “Tetragrammaton" in the Hebrew text, but as for the Greek that we have today, I'm not certain that it remains un-altered, because of those who were in control of the originals manuscripts during the "Middle Ages". I say this because God's personal name, Jehovah does not appear anywhere in the New Testament, even when Jesus quoted from the Old Testament, which at that time still must have contained His Father's name, or Jesus would have changed it back to how He inspired it. Man's many translations and interpretations are less then perfect and requires our caution. I have to believe that salvation is available to those who seek God with what He has left for the truth searching mind, even if the truth is not completely reached, salvation I trust is available. For those who do not personally seek the truth in God's word, I dare not speculate, plus some of the New Testament original language was not Greek, maybe even most of it, therefore, some of what we read now is already a generation or two generation away from purity, considering that all the New Testament writers were Hebrew speaking Jews asked to seek other Hebrew speaking Jews, why would they be speaking and writing in Greek? Only Paul ventured elsewhere from of Judah.

Returning back to searching John 1:3, "Through" (#1223) is the word in question, "dia" is the Greek word and has a multitude of possible English words, starting with: the channeling of an act; through, after, always, among, at, to avoid, because of, briefly, by, for (cause)... fore, from, in, by occasion of, of, by reason of, for sake, that, therefore, x through, through (-out), to, wherefore, with (-in). The translators had to choose only one, and I feel it's important to find one that holds to a consistency throughout the Bible (Old and New Testaments). I picked "for sake or with, and with seem to work best because three words after, "without" is used.

The other general Christian opinion is that God, the Creator, is a triune God, taught throughout Christendom, but according to the verses provided here, can you see a triune God? A triune God is not anywhere in the original Greek or Hebrew text that I've read, but this is a major controversial topic in itself. The topic here is the Creator and His name is "Jehovah", the Almighty living God and Father, as it is stated, "And Jehovah God formed man out of dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7). The Father, Jehovah created us and we should give to Jehovah the credit and glory He justly deserves, "Who has planned and done it, called forth the generations from the beginning? I Jehovah am the first and the last; I am He" (Isaiah 41:4). I want to add just one more, but it is very important that you do your own research, "It is He who builds His staircase in the heavens, and He who formed His firmament on the earth; He who calls for the seawaters and pours them out on the face of the earth, Jehovah is His name" (Amos 9:6). No positive assessment can be determined in the New Testament, because "Jehovah", God's name, or a Greek translation of His name has been eliminated from the New Testament without any expressed authority from either deity, Jehovah or His Son, Jesus. After reading over a hundred verses, New and Old Testament verses stating God to be "one" and not ever one stating God to be three or three in one, against a multitude of verses stating "Jehovah" God as the one and only Creator, I stand securely on this solid rock.
